Eat Work Art 'Residents in Conversation Series': Sustainability

The first in a new series of social events - open exclusively to Eat Work Art residents.

The series aims to empower all our residents with the inspiration and skills necessary to continue driving culture in their sector, create new connections and meet fellow residents.

On Thursday 26th September, join us at Re:Store at Hackney Downs Studios for a FREE resident workshop on how to shop sustainably to suit your lifestyle and budget.

Expect free consultations with a nutritionist and ethically sourced drinks and nibbles. Guest speakers featuring:

• Megan - founder of zero-waste shop Re:Store,
• Phoebe - certified nutritionist and athletic performance specialist,
• Libby - founder of ethical and wellbeing company Every Origin.

Megan will start with an introduction on how to low waste shopping; covering how her zero-waste shop Re:Store works, what to bring with you, and what the options are if you don't have your own containers.

After comparing supermarket pricing, Megan will share some tips on how to save money whilst making conscious choices.

Phoebe, a fellow resident and coach and nutritionist will be sharing with us tips and tricks for meal prep and some recipe ideas using ingredients that can be found at Re:Store.

Libby, who runs the ethical gifting and wellbeing product company Every Origin, will be joining us to share ideas for upcycling and how to save money by using what you already have.

Growing Communities, a local community-led organisation providing a real, practical alternative to the current damaging food system - will be joining us to introduce their local and organic veg scheme.

The event is FREE to attend and open exclusively to Eat Work Art residents (Hackney Downs Studios, Netil House, Old Paradise Yard).
