About

Originally working from a Shoreditch arts studio, Eat Work Art founder Leo Lawson-O’Neil recognised the need for environments where creatives could connect with like-minded brands, businesses, and individuals. Driven by a passion for nurturing creativity and fostering collaboration, Eat Work Art was founded in 2009 to transform unique buildings into dynamic creative ecosystems.

The journey began with the reinvention of a disused office block in Hackney, giving rise to Netil House, an integrated creative community that became a cornerstone of the area’s vibrant cultural scene. This pioneering space brought together trailblazing creatives alongside curated wellness, hospitality, and retail brands, setting the foundation for a new kind of creative ecosystem.

With a growing demand for these dynamic environments, Eat Work Art expanded in 2012 with Hackney Downs Studios. Housed in a former print works, this flagship location further refined the blueprint for creative workspaces.

Since then, the community has flourished, extending its reach across London with Cornerstone Studios and Lockside Studios, and to Plymouth with Alma Yard and Light Studios. Even the original Shoreditch studio that sparked Eat Work Art’s inception was reimagined as Sunbury Workshops, bringing the total network to over 2,000 innovative creatives spanning industries such as fashion, music, communications, production, fine art, photography, and design.

Today, Eat Work Art continues to redefine creative workspaces by seamlessly integrating studios, workspaces, and coworking with thoughtfully curated restaurants, bars, cafés, wellness services, and retail. These environments foster dynamic ecosystems where businesses can evolve, grow, and thrive.

Now managing over 650 studios across eight unique locations, Eat Work Art proudly champions the next generation of creativity, shaping the future of workspaces and empowering residents to push boundaries in their fields.
