Virtual Open Studios Introduces... The Do Book Co.

Virtual Open Studios is a video series celebrating creative talents across three sites: Hackney Downs Studios, Netil House and Old Paradise Yard

The Do Book Company is an independent book publishing company launched in 2013, in association with the Do Lectures. Their concise guides are designed to help creative entrepreneurs, makers and doers work smarter and create positive change.

Written by experts whose stories and ideas have inspired others to go and Do, the collection spans design, business, wellbeing and sustainable living with each book focusing on the ‘doing’ rather than the background theory. Concise, practical guides that make it easier to Do stuff.

Do Books are distributed worldwide in print, digital and audio formats with a royalty from each sale going to both the author and back into the Do Lectures to help it achieve its aim of making positive change.

Miranda West at Hackney Downs Studios

Miranda West spent nearly 20 years working in book publishing before setting up The Do Book Co. This came about after watching a Do Lecture online and contacting the founders to ask if they had considered publishing books by their speakers. It was a well-timed email: they had but needed someone to make it happen. A year or so later, a new independent publishing house was launched with just five books. There are now 30 books in the collection and they can be found in bookstores around the world.
