Eat Work Art Local Recommendations
We are sharing our creative industry insights of the best local spots in the area across our sites at Hackney Downs Studios and Netil House. We can't wait for their doors to open this year, but in the meantime enjoy many via delivery and click & collect.
Hackney Downs Studios
House of Momo, Dalston
'Insanely delicious Nepalese dumplings, great value for what you get and the staff are incredibly thoughtful.'
Little Duck, The Picklery, Dalston
'Fermenting bar and kitchen in Dalston. Currently open for a weekly take out menu, wholesale pickles, ferments and drinks. Their menu is seasonal and ever changing, any of their dishes is sublime! Their Kombucha is a must try.'
Yum Yum, Stoke Newington
'Always the top of my list - they make the best Papaya salad. You can still order delivery through lockdown and it's just as tasty enjoyed at home'
The Tiger, Homerton
'The pizzas at The Tiger pub in Homerton are fire. It’s all they serve. Made in a wood oven. Fresh ingredients. Fairly priced and the staff are lovely too'
The Dusty Knuckle, Dalston
'Bread is my vice and these guys provide me with my weekly fix. People talk about their sourdough (which is excellent) but the Focaccia is the secret weapon. The sandwiches are out of this world and it’s the only bakery I’ve seen with a queue bigger than the one at Berghain.'
Little Georgia, London Fields
'Tiny Georgian cafe that you must stop on your way to Columbia Flower Market from Broadway Market. They serve the best brunches, also serving lunch and dinner. Carbs and cheese lovers must try their baked dishes, especially their ‘Khachapuri’, a giant boat made of freshly baked dough filled with cheese and topped with a fried egg! Currently open for take-aways and deliveries.'
Palm Greens, Netil House
'Not just saying this because it’s in Netil House but I eat the Kale Caesar salad from Palm Greens every day I’m in. It’s delicious and great to support a social conscious business!'
'Real authentic sushi and yakitori. I would recommend the tempura, it tastes as good as it does in Tokyo. To wash it down there is a wide choice of sake and a friendly Australian host who will make sure you enjoy yourself!'
Bread & Truffle, London Fields
'There’s a reason this place has 5 stars on Google with over 150 reviews. The best focaccia you can get, with massive portions. Incredibly delicious and something for every taste with their decently sized menu. Staff are super friendly too!'
Mao Chow, London Fields
'Tiny little hole in the wall restaurant that can seat about 6 people (even pre-Covid), this place has a rolling menu and varying chefs that specialise in different asian cuisines. All vegan.'
Fin & Flounder, Broadway Market
'A lovely family run business that serves the best seafood in East-London! They are experts and happy to answer all your crustacean questions. A really different way to do lunch."
