Commercial Development & Property Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a vastly experienced and MRICS qualified property professional to oversee a growing portfolio of sites and developments.

Eat Work Art has been a pioneer in flexible workspace since 2009 and offers inspiring workspace for leaders in the creative industries. Our sites are designed to facilitate community, collaboration and growth for the businesses and individuals that occupy our spaces. We continue to develop our sites to unlock potential and allow the resident experience to evolve over time.

Netil House, Hackney Downs Studios and Old Paradise Yard are our most well-known ventures. We recently launched Phase 1 of Alma Yard, our first site outside London.

We are poised for rapid expansion in 2022, with a number of acquisitions and developments underway and more planned in the near future. In our development department, we currently have a small in-house team and work closely with a cluster of external professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity to strategically develop the department in preparation for growth.​The ideal candidate will successfully head up the development side of our business continuing our innovation into our next chapter.


Role overview

This role assumes responsibility for our physical product - the fabric of all properties within our portfolio. The primary element being overseeing all aspects of development including programming, financial control, planning, negotiation of contracts, building regulations and quality control. You will deliver and implement a strategy that ensures our buildings are delivered to the highest standards of design, compliance, fire and health & safety, with these standards maintained via a comprehensive programme of training, processes and carefully managed KPIs for our operations teams.

This role is based in London with travel to Devon and other sites as necessary.
