Vote for The Hackney Showroom

The Hackney Showroom need your votes to win the Jewson's Building Better Communities Prize this year.

The Hackney Showroom opening show POLITRIX by resident theatre company The Big House was a huge success, seeing sold out shows and rave reviews in abundance. The future for our new theatre space is extremely bright, and with this latest announcement, we all have the chance to help them take things ever further this year.

Whittled down from 2,000 applications, the building merchants Jewson selected the Hackney Showroom as one of 63 community building projects to be put to the public vote to decide on which project should win the gargantuan cash prize of £50,000. Voting is super quick and easy, however if you needed a little convincing, here are 5 reasons why you should vote for the Hackney Showroom:

1. They are our biggest baby, grown from the grass roots of Hackney Downs Studios

2. They are the only East London project on the shortlist

3. And the only project representing the creative industries on the shortlist

4. They are offering fantastic discounts to residents

5. Their next show is going to be a killer

The competition is being run via Facebook and the Hackney Showroom is up against projects that are established and have tens of thousands of Facebook supporters. If they are to stand a chance of winning, they need every vote they can muster, so do spare 20 seconds of your time this week to VOTE for The Hackney Showroom.
