BLINKINK Resident Spotlight

Introducing Blinkink - wildly creative company of producers drop anchor at Hackney Downs Studios

Existing in the world where animation and technique-driven live action meet, Blinkink represents some of the world’s most visually inventive filmmakers.

Production powerhouse Blinkink are constantly discovering and developing new creative talent, having launched the careers of many successful directors, including Ivan Zacharias, Doug Foster, Dominic Murphy, Kevin Thomas, Dougal Wilson, Steve Reeves and Paul Gay.  BlinkInk was founded in 2004 to produce live action, animation and visual effects-based multidisciplinary work including music videos and commercials. BlinkInk's focus is on using unconventional visual techniques, spanning from puppetry to computer graphics. The division currently represents a roster of 12 directors drawn from a range of backgrounds such as art film, video games and architecture.

Blinkink's notable projects include commercials for Cadbury, Google, Nokia, Peugeot, Mercedes and Carphone Warehouse, and music videos for Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Crystal Antlers, Kap Bambino and Keaton Henson.

Initially founded as an animation company by James Studholme and artist Bob Lawrie, Blinkink has since launched four specialised sub-divisions in addition to its commercial production company, and currently operates as an all-encompassing creative studio producing commercials, animations, art, music videos and fashion films.

One of Blink's most memorable projects is Gorilla, a commercial directed by Juan Cabral for Cadbury... remember this..?

Always nurturing fresh young talent alongside well-established directors Blinkink creates commercials, short films and music videos that are consistently unique and innovative.

Here at Hackney Downs Studios, we look forward to seeing what circus tricks Blinkink innovators have up their sleeves, and what fresh and exciting collaborations come out of this fantastic new residency.
